History of the IPA

History of the Illiana Pullers Association

The IPA began informally a little over 20 years ago. Roughly one dozen 4 wheel drive truck pullers began to meet and formalize rules for their class. They had been competing at local fairs and town celebrations.

Over time additional truck classes and the eventual addition of two tractor classes brought the IPA into incorporation in 1994.

Since incorporation, the IPA has grown from the four core classes and a rough membership of 40 members to 9 classes and a little over 100 members in the meantime increasing the size of its board of directors, developing technical committees and adding track officials.
